Application Requirements

◆Application Requirements

1. Applicants with foreign nationality need to meet at least one of the following conditions
  • Applicants who have completed a 12-year course in formal school education in a foreign country, or those who have equivalent qualifications designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (Please contact us if your educational background is less than 12 years).
  • Those who have reached a certain age and are recognized as having academic ability equal to or higher than those who have graduated from high school.
    • 2. Applicants need to have financial supporters who can pay the necessary expenses for studying and living in Japan.
        3. Applicants need to meet at least one of the following conditions.
      • The Japanese Level must be equivalent to ① N5 or higher level of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT);
      • ② Level 5 or higher of the NAT-TEST. Level F or higher of the J-Test;
      • ③ Those who have completed 150 hours or more of Japanese language education;
      • ④ Those who are recognized by the university as having equivalent or higher Japanese proficiency in any of the above.
        • 4. Applications will not be admitted if the applicant who have studied in a Japanese language institution in Japan with student visa over one year.

          Application for April 2021

          • For April semester students: As a general rule, the deadline for submitting the application documents is the end of November.
          • For October semester students: As a general rule, the deadline for submitting the application documents is the end of May.

          ◆ How to apply

           Please fill in the application form, statement of study purpose, and expense supporter’s form in our prescribed form. Please send documents by E-mail: bekka.t@tumh.ac.jp


          ◆ Selection method

          • Admission result is based on both of interview and screening of the documents which submitted by applicants.
          • In order to confirm the contents of the application documents, we may check with the applicant and his/her financial sponsor by telephone or interview.
          • Depending on different situations, the interview may be carried out face to face or by video call. *The date and location of the interview will be informed to applicants later.

          ◆ Application procedure

            • 1. Submission of application documents (Applicant)
            • 2. Entrance examination, on-campus document selection. Pass / Fail decision (University)
            • 3. For applicants who have received the passed result, the university will apply for the status of residence (University)
            • 4. Documents investigation by the Immigration Bureau (Immigration Bureau)
            • 5. Issuance of Certificate of Eligibility to the University (Immigration Bureau)
            • 6. Promptly notify the applicants about the release of CoE.(University)
            • 7. Payment of admission fee, tuition fee, etc. (Successful applicant)
            • 8. After tuition payment confirmed, a certificate of the status of residence and admission permit will be sent to successful applicants. (University)
            • 9. Apply and obtain a student visa from the Japanese Embassy (Applicant)
            • 10. Entry into Japan, enrollment (Successful applicant)
            *The Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) will be issued to TUMH within two to three months after TUMH submitted the application to the Immigration Bureau. TUMH can not guarantee the issue of CoE.

          ◆Application documents

          For Applicant
            • 1. Application form (Original /Prescribed format)
              *Must be filled out by applicant.
              *With any blank period of education or work experience, explanatory documents are necessary.
            • 2. Statement of study purpose (Original)
              *The statement should describe the follows in detail which include the current status of the applicant, future planning and the purpose of studying in Japan.
            • 3. Final academic diploma (Original)
              *Applicants with Chinese national also need to provide the notarial certificate of the graduation certificate.
            • 4. Japanese Language proficiency test certificate if available (Original or copy)
            • 5. Japanese language studying certificate (Original)
              *Should be issued by the Japanese Language Institution that you studied, which must include the name of your studying course; the course content; the name of the textbook; the total time (in hours) of the course; the studied time have been done at the point when this certificate is issued, the attendance rate, and the transcript.
            • 6. ID Photos 4 pcs. *Size: 3cm×4cm
              *Please write your name and date of birth on the back of each photo.
            • 7. Copy of passport.
          For Financial Sponsor
            • 1. Letter of Sponsor Guarantee (Original /Prescribed format)
              *To be filled out and signed by the sponsor
            • 2. Certificate of deposit balance (Original)
            • 3. Bank account balance statement. (For the past 1 years /Original)
              *A copy of your bank book is also acceptable.
            • 4. Employment certificate (Original)
              *The date of entry, period of employment, position, etc. should all be recorded in detail.
              *Private business or Self-employed needs to provide certificates such as business permits.
              *Sponsor of applicant with Vietnam and Bangladesh national needs to provide the certificate with tax number.
            • 5. Income certificate (For the past 1 years /Original)
              *Income detail, tax certificate, etc.
              *In the case that the sponsor is exempt from income tax, the corresponding tax exemption decree or decree number which been issued by the applicant’s country/region should be provided.
            • 6. ID certificate (Copy)
            • 7. Relative relationship certificate
              *All documents should be issued within 3 months.
              *We may ask you to submit documents that are not listed above.
              *In terms of submitted documents, only those that cannot be reissued will be returned.

          ◆Attention points while submitting application

          All the submitted documents will be rigorously reviewed by TUMH. The application of Certificate of Eligibility (CoE), which is required for applying for the student visa, will be submitted to the Immigration Bureau after the applicant has passed the documents screening. The application documents will be submitted to Immigration Bureau by TUMH. To prevent students from illegally stays and illegal employment in Japan, TUMH and the Immigration Bureau will strictly review all the application documents. Even the application has been submitted to the Immigration Bureau, it cannot guarantee the issue of CoE, so please confirm the following carefully before submitting the application documents.
          • TUMH and the Immigration Bureau may request additional documents after receiving the documents if the contents are not enough. To avoid missing the admission period, please spend sufficient time preparing and submitting the documents.
          • For any document which is not Japanese, please attach the Japanese translation.
          • The name and affiliation of the translator should be recorded in the translated documents.
          • After the application documents are screened by TUMH, the originals will be submitted to the Immigration Bureau. If there is any document that needs to be retained, please make copies in advance before submitting them to TUMH.
          • All the items in the application form must be filled out by the applicant. Similarly, the expense payment form must be filled out by the financial sponsor. Other people’s writing is not accepted. Please stamp by the registered personal seal. (If you do not have a personal seal, your personal signature is also accepted)
          • Basically, financial sponsor is the parent of the applicant. In other cases, please contact TUMH. Applicants who had a long-term stay history in Japan, please inform us in advance.

              *International transfer remittance fees are borne by the applicant.
              *If there is any Unbalance amount of payment due to transfer remittance, please pay the balance at TUMH after you arrived to Japan.

          ◆ Tuition reduction and exemption

            At Takarazuka University of Medical and Health Care, Bekka Japanese Language program, we have an admission fee reduction and exemption system for international students.
          • At the time of application for admission, if the applicant has passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or higher level, he/she will have the full amount of the admission fee exempted.
          • At the time of application for admission, if the applicant has passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3, he/she will have the half amount of the admission fee exempted.

          ◆ Refund of Tuition

          1. After receiving the Certificate of Eligibility, if
              ① Applicant does not apply for a visa;
              ② Applicant received student visa but gave up before entry into Japan.

            We will refund tuition fees, excluding the entrance examination fee and admission fee.

              *Transfer remittance fees are paid by the applicant.
          1. If the visa is not issued after the Certificate of Eligibility is issued, the amount excluding the entrance examination fee will be refunded.
              *Transfer remittance fees are paid by the applicant.
          • Please return the Certificate of Eligibility and Certificate of Admission to the university.
          • Tuition fees will be refunded as soon as the Certificate of Eligibility and Certificate of Admission is confirmed.
          1. No refund after enrollment.
